http://www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/FAQ42.html — Walt Brown: Contradictions between evolution and Bible.

The June, 2016 ‘light magazine’, has this article by Jack Taylor,…..http://lightmagazine.ca/2016/06/the-hands-that-made-us-3/   In it Jack follows the worn path of compromise that has become the norm for most established denominations and theological colleges.

Unable to give a clear answer to sceptics, the Christians have tried to straddle the middle line, trying desperately to proclaim their undying love for the Saviour and their happy acceptance of the evolutionists account of our origins.

Nothing in the middle of the road but a yellow line, and dead skunks.

It’s only dummies who shut their eyes tight, clap their hands over their ears and refuse any information that contradicts their dearly-held beliefs.  So if evolution is true, and the real data point to that scenario as the objective scientific account of our origin of life,  we young-earth creationists should just accept it and get on with life.  The christian compromise position  however, is really one of cowardice, a fear of being called a dummy, or worse.

Jack would have us moderate our literalist stand on the Bible and be open to scientists who profess a similar faith in Christ, while accepting vast long ages to accommodate the multiplied millions of years needed by proponents of evolution.

Jack buys into the ‘religion VERSUS science’, a distinction that does not exist at all for those who know the God of all creation, and take Him at His word.

If God is who He says He is and spoke the world into being, as He said He did in Genesis, then God, and God alone is the ULTIMATE SCIENTIST.

If however Genesis is not a true, factual account of our origins, then Jack and all his fellow theologians are wasting their lives prattling nonsense about some mythical being who cannot be trusted about a word he’s spoken, and this no god, most certainly not worthy of human worship, obedience or trust.

Every detail of the evolution account is in direct opposition to the Biblical account.  If Jack wants us to believe that God used the process of evolution, then go on,…… give us clear scientific evidence to support your ideas.

Evolution does not hold up under scrutiny, which is why the most usual debate is rife with ad-hominem attacks.  There is no data that can stand the rigour of observation, repeatability, testable, falsifiable.  The very best evolution can come up with is micro-changes within species which is then wildly held up as proof of macro-evolution,…..a vastly different animal.

But why this herd mentality among christian academics and church leaders, to teach that Genesis is not intended to be taken literally?  Even nice guys like Jack who’ve made a career out of the Bible can’t seem to stand tall on the solid foundation of the Word of the living God.

Jack mentions James Tour, a chemist who profoundly shows the impossibility of life coming from non-life.  Where Tour focuses on his area of expertise he is brilliant and wonderful, when he wanders off into the question of the age of the earth,…..meh.

The origin of life is a religious question no matter how much evolutionists try to frame it as ‘science‘, meaning them – versus ‘religion‘, meaning us.  Even a casual study of evolution will show you that this is hard-core religious faith, because it certainly is not based on observable, testable, repeatable, falsifiable data.  Evolutionist pull millions and billions of years out of their magic hats at will.  They invoke miracles by the bazillion to create their just-so stories of proto -life ever pulling it’s sockies higher until it steps out as  physicists, photographers and preachers.

Why the compromise Jack?  Godless man will devise any story, so long as it leads lost humanity away from the Son of God, who alone takes away the sin of the world.

Science and God are not incompatible.  All true science leads to God the almighty artist, designer, creator and sustainer of the entire universe. God is truth.

As Dr. Tour shows us so eloquently, the tiniest life molecule is beyond our comprehension.  We listen to people who say God “could not” have created everything in six literal days, some six-thousand years ago.

Listen Jack, God who created a ‘simple’ bacterium does not need you to tell Him what He could, or could not do.  So now you want the believers not to believe the clear words of our Creator, but rather to listen to the ever shifting babble of fallen, feeble, frail and often failures of sinful man.

You want christians to force Genesis into man’s creation stories.  Well which man, which group, which culture, which age would you have us trust as the truth about our origins?

Jesus told us, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”

Nor does God take it lightly when we mess with His revealed word. To teach that He does not mean what He told us in Genesis, that these words are not intended to be taken as fact and foundational for all of life and eternity, causes terrible harm to those seeking truth in a dark world.

Genesis is interwoven throughout the entire rest of the Bible.   Don’t join the crowd who want to take scissors to the Bible, and ultimately destroy the Book of Life.  Of course we rail against the Holy One to our own destruction.

Teach the theory of evolution as well as God’s eternal truth, so that people can learn to think for themselves.  But the attempt to meld these vastly opposing accounts is foolhardy.

“Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest remains, let us fear lest any of you be judged to have failed to reach it.  For good news came to us just as it came to them; but the message which they heard did not benefit them, because it did not meet with faith in the hearers.  For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,  “As I swore in my wrath, They shall never enter my rest,” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.  For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way,  “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works:”  And again in this place he said, “They shall never enter my rest.”

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he sets a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, ” Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts,”

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later of another day.  So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God; for whoever enters God’s rest also ceases from his labours as God did from his.

Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart,  And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sinning.  Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews
