Anyone having any musical ability, (or ambitions) can start up a jam.  Abbotsford has a few on the go that meet at local coffee houses. You don’t have to be a professional, or even very talented.  Just a love of music will do.  Find a venue, put an ad in the paper and get your own jam going.  In time more and more people will join you.

Our group started about ten years ago.  We’ve been with them about seven years and that has been a really nice part of our lives.

So dust off the old banjo and get a group of musicians out once a week,…..or more often.

Lynn Perrin captured this and put it on YouTube. While a bit fuzzy, this captures the joy of ad hoc music jams.  It’s called “Richard’s jig” because he wrote the music.

We’ve come to December 30, 2017 and jams have sprung up in more towns.  This group of friends continues to meet at least twice a week in other venues.   Like I said,…..start one up.  Hard to find a better way to spend time with people.
