From Richard Peachey:

A recent article in the British publication New Scientist:  “Record sea ice around Antarctica due to global warming.”

Now let’s see . . . if the ice around Antarctica was currently shrinking, they’d say: That’s due to global warming! (After all, that istheir explanation when they think they see Arctic ice reduction.)

So no matter what, it’s always . . . global warming! But . . . an explanation that can account for every possible event is not a helpful scientific hypothesis!

It’s kind of like evolution, which can explain loss of traits, gain of traits, simplification, complexification, taller animals, smaller animals . . . everything!

(Note that evolution and climate change are the twin pillars on which the NCSE is built.)
