When the Abbotsford News uses Monika Narang to advertise their wares, that’s fine.  When they use an elected politician of Abbotsford, to their own ends, that is not fine.

This reminds me of old neighbours who would hide their son’s stolen goods under the sofa, when the cops knocked on the door.

Not that I’ve seen action, as yet, from senior government oversight for what looks like an unhealthy melding of politics and the press.

The ‘separation of church and state’ discussion should extend to a serious look at ‘separation of elected politicians and the press.’  Democracy really needs a healthy, analytical and independent media, in order to survive.
